Treasure Map

Well, your hunt all starts with your treasure map. Below is an example of a treasure map for an already solved hunt:

Where to start?

The dashes on the bottom indicate the length of the word, numbers or symbols in the solution.

With that out of the way, you have to get to work putting together your compass!

Your compass is going to point you in the right direction to head out into the internet to find your treasure. The compass can be put together from the clues given on your treasure map.

Solution

Treasure Hunt

In this particular solution, the compass is made up of two parts: one from the sentence and one from the photos.

When looking at the photos, what is common between them? They are all photos of the movie series “Pirates of the Caribbean“. One half of the compass is the word Caribbean.

The sentence is a little cryptic, but refers to the third value. If you are an avid follower of Treasure Hunt Token, you will know in the whitepaper and various parts of the website that THT prides itself on having three core values: Fun. Transparency. Community. Community is the third value and hence the second half of the compass.

Ok, we have our compass! Caribbean community. What next?

The next direction isn’t necessarily the same for all hunts, as the treasure could be anywhere on the internet but google is a good place to try. Googling the phrase “Caribbean community” shows the following result:

First hit on google ain’t bad! Remember the reference to “members” on your treasure map? Click on “member states and associate…” and you see this:

One of these is the solution, but which one to choose? Well being 6 letters long is a big hint. But what else was there on the treasure map? If you look closely, you see that the pictures were arranged in the number seven:

And there you have it, you’ve solved your first treasure hunt. The treasure is real money to be won, and it is long gone now, but there are plenty more starting up all the time.
